More is not better when it comes to clear skin

Are you someone with at least 10 or 15 different facial products in their bathroom? Do you use different products everyday? I bet you’re not getting any results with getting clear skin are you? Probably not. Something a lot of people don’t know is using all sorts of different products in a short amount of time can actually do more harm than good to your skin.

Skin products aren’t make specifically to your unique skin. Yes, there are products for “oily skin” and “dry skin,” but these are just general products for everyones skin. So in order to have something “work” on your own skin, it takes about 60-90 days for complete results if you’re using products for acne for anti-oily skin.

So, if you do use one product for one or two weeks and don’t see any results, don’t change to another product just yet. As mentioned, it takes a while to see results, so don’t jump to conclusions that the product you’re using isn’t working.

Using multiple products at a time for the same solution (acne, oily or dry skin, etc.) can confuse the skin and “restart” the whole process of doing whatever you’re trying to fix. So it’s always good to stick with the same product until it’s nearly finished. This usually only applies to cleansers and moisturizers.

The best thing you can do for your skin and for its health to keep it cleansed and clear is to simply use a gentle cleanser, an acne solution (that you’ll stick with), and a moisturizer. For those pesky occasional pumps and spots, spot treatments are okay to use. Use until the spot is gone and for at least a day or two after it’s gone to ensure it won’t return!
