Fashion Forecast: S/S 2010

Spring/Summer 2010 Trends

Neutral Tones

The elegance and simplicity of neutral tones was seen on the New York runways marking neutral tones a must have for Spring 2010. The use of the neutral tones was seen through out, from dresses to pant suits and the use of light sheer fabrics only adds to the easy, elegant appeal. Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs collections featured some stunning neutral tone pieces.

See Through

Spicing up the runway was an assortment of see through pieces. See through clothing is sexy and daring and can be worn in a very sophisticated way so as not to reveal too much. Jill Stuart paired an off the shoulder see through top with black pants and heels and also created brilliant designs by having creative see through inserts in her pieces. Layering ultra sheer fabrics also created a dream like essence in the Marc Jacob collection. Summer will be sizzling with these see through designs.

Metallic

Bright and bold metallic’s always find a spot on the runway. Dresses look amazing in metallic! The Phillip Lim and Jil Stuart collection featured some of the best ways metallic should be used! Keeping things chic and sexy the Jil Stuart collect had some ultra short metallic dresses. Phillip Lim added a bit of length to his looks in his designs. Offering a sleeve as well as mixing the strength of the metallic with the softness of other materials was the perfect balance!

Leisure Suits

One of my favorite styles, leisure suits, made its way down the runway and on the list of must have pieces. Leisure suits offer just the right amount of comfort without looking drab like every other boring suit. They come in a variety of styles. Rag & Bone created the perfect sophisticated leisure suit by mixing and matching a grey fitted jacket with olive green bottoms. Leisure suits are also great for a day at the mall or a day sailing. The Preen collection had a great leisure suit that had neutral tones, sheer see through fabric and a pop of bright yellow in their newly introduced shoe collection.
