We Are The Dream, SA MLK 01.18.10

Did you know San Antonio hosts the largest MLK Parade in the country? 01.18.2010 POST YOUR Story, Video, Photos here

By Dxserg, Everyone of us that marches on Jan. 18th are living proof that a King's message to his people has become the embodiment of a new found American Destiny.

We are called to March, not to just honor a great human being but for something bigger then all of us. We March for Freedom, Liberty, Equality, Justice, Loyalty, and Hope for all.

Its time we Rise up with all those that have Fallen for the sake of us uniting under the banner of non-violence and equality. Our world isn't any better then when Dr. King spoke of freedom and hope all those years ago, some can argue its actually worse.

But if that's the case lets remember, "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience, but where he stands in moments of challenge, moments of great crisis and controversy."

We March because we believe in a better tomorrow. This isn't a Liberal or Conservative issue, this is part of the human element. The survival of our humanity depends on those that are willing to sacrifice everything for helping someone else in need.

I truly believe that when Dr. King stood on that mountain top and witnessed that some 50 years from now we would still be Marching, that we would still be fighting and doing so by non-violent means that he would of been smiling while tears rolled past his cheeks while he whispered to himself "Free at Last, Oh God Almighty, Were Free at Last".

(quotes are the words of Martin Luther King, Jr.)
