(more)

Heart-breaking aerial video by Hurricane Creekkeeper John Wathen. At 6:30 you see a pod of dolphins and a sperm whale swimming, dead or dying in oil.

John L. Wathen

From: youtube.com/hccreekkeeper | June 26, 2010 | This was the most emotionally disturbing video I have ever done! A flight over the BP Slick Source where I saw at least 100 Dolphins in the oil, some dying. I also photographed a Sperm Whale covered in oil all around it's blow hole. Please spread this around the world. Send me any links to places it gets posted so I can follow. I want to piss off the world. Who will answer for these gentle creatures?

LATEST UPDATE: 60,000 plus barrels a day now leaking at 45 gallons per barrel that means about 3,000,000 gallons a day are poisoning the gulf

ACtimes.- BP claims to be recovering 10,000 barrels a day (about 450,000 gallons) It seems, however, the leak increased last week since the pipe was cut-off to install the "cap" on.  Which leads many to believe that the leak may have doubled or even tripled, but BP nor Feds are talking.   So capturing 10k barrels means nothing.  Meanwhile birds and Sea animals are dying by the hundreds, but most sink in the dark waters, and we may never know. A fairly conservative estimate claims over 3,000,000 gallons a day.  That is over 100,000,000 gallons this far.... PLUS

Remarks by the President to the Nation on the BP Oil Spill

Oval Office

8:01 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT:  Good evening.  As we speak, our nation faces a multitude of challenges.  At home, our top priority is to recover and rebuild from a recession that has touched the lives of nearly every American.  Abroad, our brave men and women in uniform are taking the fight to al Qaeda wherever it exists.  And tonight, I’ve returned from a trip to the Gulf Coast to speak with you about the battle we’re waging against an oil spill that is assaulting our shores and our citizens.

On April 20th, an explosion ripped through BP Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, about 40 miles off the coast of Louisiana.  Eleven workers lost their lives.  Seventeen others were injured.  And soon, nearly a mile beneath the surface of the ocean, oil began spewing into the water.

Because there has never been a leak this size at this... (more)

"Silent Victims" of the Gulf Oil Spill now facing almost 1-million gallons/day continue to be released into the Gulf.

These are some their silent faces, victims of what already is the biggest ecological disaster. A full front assault to mother earth.

"Top-Kill" has failed and 20,000 barrels a day continue to be released into the Gulf.

One barrel=42 gallons x 20,000 = 840,000 gallons of oil a day!

And there's them... Innocent victims of the spill. How many have already died?

Some 445 species of fish, 134 birds, 45 mammals, and 32 reptiles and amphibians are at risk, according to Louisiana's Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The biggest threats are to Louisiana's state bird, the brown pelican, the sea turtle, bottlenose dolphins and manatees - and even land mammals such as coyotes, raccoons and foxes.

Breaking News:

The Associated Press
Monday, April 12, 2010; 5:56 PM

WASHINGTON -- Democrats in the Senate have won an initial skirmish to restore unemployment benefits to hundreds of thousands of jobless people despite Republican criticism that it would add $9 billion to the nation's debt.

The 60-34 vote kills a GOP filibuster against debating the measure, which would extend benefits through the end of the month. It came as senators in both parties blamed each other for allowing them to lapse last week. That means hundreds of thousands of people who have been out of work for more than six months will miss federally financed benefits averaging $335 a week.

Republicans blocked the measure from advancing last month. It would buy time while House-Senate talks continue on a far larger measure to extend them through the end of the year.

Following a two-week break, lawmakers are returning to Washington. The Senate is in session and is continuing debate on a one-month extension of jobless... (more)

As of July 22, 2010, Congress extended the deadlines to qualify for all extended benefit programs; however, it did not add additional weeks for applicants who have exhausted all entitlement to benefits according to TWC, the Texas Workforce Commission.  This means over 1 million U.S. workers are left without their benefits, and the number is expected to grow to 2 to 3 million nationwide.  Congress also took away an additional payment recipients were getting of $25 every two weeks.  A car full of groceries for many.

They helped the Banks, gave billions to Wall Street and the Auto Industry.  Sent a few more billions to Iraq, and more to Afghanistan, but now refuse benefits to the jobless voters who put them into office.  We are talking Congress... and these guys in particular:

Meet the guys who refuse to vote to help extend unemployment benefits to millions of Americans.  Tax payers who worked and earned those benefits, NOT...
